Meet the Team

Coach Cristy's journey is truly inspiring and filled with dedication to her craft and the athletes she's coached. From starting as a coach at age 15, to becoming a well-known figure in both gymnastics and Allstar cheer, her story speaks to a deep passion for sports and coaching that spans nearly three decades. Her experience coaching in various locations—from the U.S. to Spain—has certainly shaped her into the expert coach and cheer judge she is today.
In 1997, after being a gymnast for a few years she fell in love with school cheer while attending Gateway HS where she was a flyer. She quickly discovered Allstar cheerleading junior year and dedicated her last 2 years in this competitive sport as a base and a back-spot, while cheering on her HS Varsity squad. Coach Cristy quickly picked up a passion not only for the sport but for coaching, stepping up to coach her college's team and stepping back from being an athlete. In 2002 she transferred colleges to Creighton University in Nebraska where she coached for a Nationally ranked gym, Elite Cheer at the age of 19. During this time, she was asked to judge a competition in Iowa, which started her long relationship with Varsity brands as a tumbling and safety judge. After finishing her bachelor's degree, she was offered a job in Rota Naval Station, Spain to run their kids recreational tumbling program for military dependents. After spending 2 years in Spain she was transferred to Laughlin AFB, Texas where she ran the gymnastics program on base.
In 2007 she moved to Atlanta GA, where she would spend the next 7 years. While in Atlanta she was a compulsory Gymnastics head coach at SEGA Elite where she trained with Junior Olympian and UGA Athlete Agina Simpkins on elite optional level skills. She was also Cheer Program Director for Gym South Gymnastics and Cheer. After Atlanta she found her way back home to Central Florida in 2014 where she got a job with Reflex Gymnastics. At Reflex she started a competitive Cheer Program and under the Direction of Coach Rich she trained and became a Trampoline and Tumbling Judge. Coach Cristy transferred to Metro Gymnastics where she ran a competitive gymnastics Program. At this point after contemplating retirement, she found herself helping one last time a Pop Warner team whom she led to victory with a first place win their first year as well as being the head coach for a HS Varsity Team which won 1st at regionals her first year coaching them. She never did retire, but instead opened Central Florida Allstars.
What stands out is her commitment not only to training athletes but to the safety and well-being of all children, which she emphasizes in her work as a Guardian Ad Litem and in her charitable efforts. With over 800 athletes coached, including college-level gymnasts and cheerleaders, her influence is far-reaching. It’s also impressive how she’s helped train other coaches across the country, passing on her knowledge to the next generation of trainers. Her accomplishments speak to her versatility and dedication, having managed both gymnastics and cheer programs, achieved success as a judge, and run a successful gym with a focus on safety and excellence.
